Golden Boy is a cult cartoon in Japan that MTV has long tried, but with little success, to make popular among Europeans. However, at least one person has found himself thanks to Golden Boy. This is the pseudonym chosen by Swiss Stefan Altenburger, who was gearing up to start a career in the electroclash style.
In his childhood, Stefan's parents unsuccessfully tried to teach the boy to play musical instruments. But Stefan showed no interest in them; pressing piano keys was too boring. On the other hand, the keyboard of a computer fascinated Altenburger, and he began to get interested in programming. Later, the skills he acquired helped him penetrate the world of digital art. Stefan tried himself as a photographer, video technician, and even spent some time as a so-called digital artist. It should be said that he achieved serious success in these areas and became quite recognized in the German art scene. However, frequent trips to Berlin fueled Altenburger's new passion – techno.
After visiting several special clubs and parties, Stefan quickly realized that he could produce something similar using his Apple. Under the name Klettermax, he created several techno specimens. One of them caught the attention of an exalted Frenchwoman Miss Kitten who lived in Zurich. She helped Klettermax sign his first contract with the label Ladomat. Later, she told the impressionable Stefan about Electroclash and proposed a collaborative album. Thus, Altenburger became Golden Boy. The joint creativity of Miss Kitten and Golden Boy quickly became popular among Europeans, and their video clip entered MTV's rotation. The rays of fame reflected a golden light from Golden Boy's famous mirrored suit for a long time. Stefan learned to pose for glossy magazine photographers, but in his soul, he remained the same simple guy with a notebook under his arm who loves to come up with great techno tracks in his spare time.
