Happy Birthday party: Mio 4Ever!
Клубные российские · 04.09.2006
On Saturday, September 9, the DJ café Mio will celebrate its fourth anniversary! For the club's birthday, the Sheffield electronic duo Swag is invited. Barely appearing on the dance scene, the duo immediately attracted the attention of music critics with their innovative sound for that time. Founded in 1993, Swag became a project where musicians Chris Duckenfield and Richard Brown experimented in their spare time. Chris Duckenfield – the creative force behind this duo – has been passionate about music since childhood. As a teenager, he was captivated by hip-hop and electro, and by the end of school, he had heard the works of the first wave of Chicago house musicians. Around this time, he met Richard Brown. Richard's musical history traces back to the punk scene in Wakefield. Working on stage and in the studio, Richard developed a unique ear and talent for sound engineering, which served him well later. Richard's first release - Rhythm Inventions - Can't Take It - was brought to the Warp label by Chris. Some time after their meeting, the guys began to record their own material. The famous Terry Farley heard the fruits of their labors and invited them to release their first records on the Junior Boys Own label.
Over the last five years, Swag has created more than 50 tracks and even more remixes for artists like Bjork, Herbert, and Moloko, as well as releasing many significant works for underground labels. The guys became known worldwide, and their show Decks And Gadgets exploded dance floors in Tokyo, Sydney, and Madrid, not to mention classic British parties at Sub Club, Back to Basis, and Fabric. Now Swag boasts two highly successful albums, and they have rightly become an integral part of the international dance scene, with Chris being recognized as a master in music creation and DJing. His mix Bad Acid (Music for Freaks) was declared the best compilation of 2004 by many authoritative critics. A tight, rich beat and a deadly rhythm – this is what makes Swag's music as popular today as it was 10 years ago.
September 9, Saturday, starting at 00:00, DJ-cafe Mio presents Happy Birthday party: Mio 4Ever! The celebration features Swag (dj-set, UK), as well as DJs Fish and Krasnov.
