High Tech Soul – a film about the history of techno music

High Tech Soul is one of the first documentary films about the emergence of techno, released in 2006 by American director and writer Gary Bredow. The video explores how a new direction in music emerged in the mid-1980s, what contributed to its rise, and how it evolved in the 'Motor City' – Detroit. The film features interviews with Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin; footage from parties at the world's first techno club, as well as snippets from tracks by Plastikman "Marbles", AUX88 "Oscillator", Innercity "Big Fun" (Magic Juan Remix), Derrick May "Strings of Life", Model 500 "The Chase" and others.
