Results of Flammable Camp Dombai 2008

This year in the North Caucasus, in the village of Dombay on the peaks of Mount Mussa Achitara, from April 1 to 13, the 11th snowboarding camp took place - Flammable Camp Dombai 2008. The camp stood out this year for the quality and variety of jumps. The series of features included the regular Quiksilver Park, the unique 15-meter Nissan jump, and the shred line, designed by Maxim Gankin and Jeff Bostwick, which is on par with European parks. Kicking off the events was the Flammable Pro Series Nissan New School Contest, which took place on April 4 on the 15-meter jump. The three finalists split a prize fund of $1,000. Artem Glebov took first place, followed by Ivan Oleynikov in second, and Ivan Malakhov in third. On April 5, the Nissan Onboard Shred The Line shred contest took place - a competition on a line of small jumps and other unusual features, specially built with the support of Onboard magazine in the camp's park. The prize fund was $3,000. The judges of the event were Vladimir Kochetkov, Gayrat Rakhimbaev, and Pavel Shirkovsky. The winners were: Anton Bukharov for best line, Gleb Mishugin for best trick, and Andrey Moskvin for best style. On April 8, an exciting competition took place - the Men's Health Rail Master jib contest. The jam session took place on one of the features in Quicksilver Park. Fifteen riders participated in the competition, with the top riders being Andrey Moskvin, Nikolay Golubev, and Nikolay Grinev. The winners received cash prizes and gifts from the store 'Your Element' - Dainese protection gear. The most spectacular event of the Dombay camp took place on April 9 - the Nissan Doski Battle of Regions. The contest was initially planned for April 8, but once again the mountains surprised the organizers with fog and snow, hindering the competition. Visibility was minimal - when riders launched off the jump, they couldn't even see the landing. However, the next day luck was truly on their side: the sun was shining early in the morning and several centimeters of fresh snow had fallen. Over twenty riders gathered in the park and started hitting the 15-meter jump. The battle for first place unfolded between Team 'Moscow' (Petya Yastrebov, Vitya Teimurov, Artem Teimurov) and Team 'Novosibirsk' (Nikolay Grinev, Anton Bukharov, Ilya Ivanov). In the end, both teams shared first place. Every evening in the camp, the Flammable Bar was open, where award ceremonies and lively dances took place. Over the two weeks of the camp, many loud parties were held in the bar. The great start was set by DJ Maxim Zorkin. On April 6, Denis Simachev, as part of the Low Budget Family, entertained the crowd with popular hits at the Time Out Moscow magazine party. The positive atmosphere was also created by everyone's favorite DJs such as Chagin (Flammable beats), Panda (Levprav), Gankin (Flammable family), and Mystic Bo (Mystic roots).
