James Holden and Mathew Jonson at Cocoon Party
Клубные российские · 29.10.2009
On November 7th, James Holden and Mathew Jonson will perform at Arma17. Both are residents of Cocoon and headliners of one of the most powerful parties in the Moscow history of Sven Väth's label. James Holden is a DJ, producer, and the founder of the Border Community label. He has been a headache for British journalists for several years, trying to understand how to classify his strange and consistently interesting music. From playing trance in the late 90s, this former mathematician now plays techno. Holden's signature sound has been described as danceable, intellectual, and conceptual, but no one has been able to label him successfully. Moscow has been waiting for the Brit who spent several months last year constructing a robot with a friend, for eight years. Mathew Jonson, a proponent of Detroit techno from Canada now living in Berlin, is no less brilliant. Like Holden, he is the head of his own label, Wagon Repair. Last year, Sven Väth included Jonson's track "Symphony For The Apocalypse: New Age Revolution" in the ninth compilation from Cocoon. Since then, Jonson is also considered the most interesting live project of the Frankfurt techno workshop. www.myspace.com/iamtherealjamesholden www.myspace.com/mathewjonson www.cocoon.net Cocoon Gallery - Trapeznikov, James Holden, Mathew Jonson Start at 00:00 Entrance: FCTRL / 600 RUB Information and VIP reservations: 7 915 404 00 44 Address: Nizhny Susalny, 5 str. 3A www.arma17.ru
