Promoter agency Organised Kaos / Interactive Media announces the relocation of the party featuring Jeff Mills to a different venue. Instead of the previously planned Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, the event will take place at the ZaVod venue, home of the famous De La Guarda show (Ordzhonikidze Street, 11). Jeff Mills' performance date in Moscow remains unchanged – December 17, 2004. Former member of Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills made the same impact on 'techno' music in the early 90s as Public Enemy did on 80s hip-hop or Elvis did on 50s rock 'n' roll. In mid-80s Detroit, Jeff Mills was better known under the pseudonym The Wizard. He was one of the city's most influential radio DJs, airing fantastic mixes of 70s funk, disco, and new wave rock. However, radio work was just a cover. Jeff spent all his free time in nightclubs where a new music movement was emerging, later named 'Detroit techno.' Influenced by the style's godfathers Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and Derrick May, Jeff Mills became engrossed in this unique music, becoming one of Detroit's leading techno DJs. Jeff Mills gained true fame in 1990 when he, along with former Parliament bassist Mike Banks and Robert Hood, founded Underground Resistance. Dressed in black uniforms, the collective shocked American music critics. With Underground Resistance's influence, techno music transitioned from underground clubs to major concert venues, becoming an essential part of modern dance culture. Jeff Mills' compilations X-101, X-102, and X-103 are now considered genre classics. In the mid-90s, Jeff Mills moved to New York, becoming a resident at the famous club The Limelight. While not officially announcing his departure from UR, he started a solo career. His unique DJ sets always thrilled the audience, skillfully mixing up to 70 tracks in an hour, blending Detroit techno's harsh sound with classic 70s soul and funk melodies. In the mid-90s, Mills moved to Chicago and founded his label Axis Records. For ten years, Axis has released uncompromising techno releases popular in the USA, Europe, Japan, and Russia. In 2000, Jeff Mills took an unprecedented step by composing a soundtrack for Fritz Lang's classic film 'Metropolis' (1926), updating the old movie with 21st-century rhythms. On February 2, 2004, Jeff Mills released a new album, 'Exhibitionist.' The disc came out in multiple formats, including DVD, featuring 45 excellent techno tracks expertly mixed by Mills. The DVD version of Exhibitionist serves as a guide for aspiring DJs.
