The Hacienda Club Became Part of the Museum

The doors of the most influential nightclub in Manchester, The Haсienda, are now part of a museum exhibition. The Museum of Science & Industry, also located in Manchester, has acquired them for its collection in honor of the 25th anniversary of the institute.

The collection manager, Pauline Webb, stated: "Over the last 25 years, we have witnessed enormous changes in science and industry in Manchester. The city and regions are moving further away from factory production and machine engineering, but on the other hand, are delving deeper into the cultural and entertainment industry. The doors of The Haсienda club symbolize for us the sign that marked the fall of the textile industry and machine engineering, and heralded the rise of the Manchester music scene in the 90s."
