Club Business in New York Under Threat

Two weeks ago, the New York police conducted a real club raid and closed five major clubs in the city. Suspected of drug distribution and selling alcoholic beverages to minors, law enforcement suspended the activities of the clubs Avalon, Spirit, Splash, Deep Club, and View. After all, it was once in the building of modern Avalon that the legendary Limelight was located, where the resident was none other than Jeff Mills at the dawn of the 90s. All five clubs will remain closed until the investigation is completed. "Let's face it: building a club in this city is very expensive, but maintaining it is even more costly. Therefore, none of the owners would risk selling alcohol to minors. Too much is at stake," says Eddie Dean, director of the New York branch of Pacha. "This is a very dangerous situation. Night raids send a clear message from the New York Police Department: 'Be careful. We are here.' Their 'club' investigation has already lasted nine months. After managing to shut down five clubs in one night, it seems they are serious about eradicating the club business in New York," Eddie adds with some regret.
