Kompakt: Strange Feeling
Музыкальные зарубежные · 20.02.2008
The latest mix released by the German label Kompakt – 'Feeling Strange,' was recorded by its French resident Jennifer Cardini. The compact disk will be available for purchase at the end of March. Cardini has long been a kind of advocate for minimal music in France, blending it in her sets with electro, much like the residents of the Parisian label Kill the DJ – Chloe and Fany, who breathed new life into the French club scene in the late 90s with their eclectic performances at the Pulp club. Jennifer now performs monthly at the renowned Parisian club Rex, previously mentioned Pulp, or for example, at the Barcelona club Nitsa. Some remember her performances also for the impressive tattoos that Cardini likes to show off.
'Feeling Strange' comes exactly three years after her previous mix 'Lust' was released. It also promises to highlight Cardini's taste for all things unusual, manifested in finding connections between seemingly different musical genres like minimal (Maurizio, Peter Ford), electro (The Hacker), experimental electronic (Principles of Geometry), and house (Joeski, Johnny D).
