Kompakt Total 8

The Kompakt series Total annually sums up the most important trends in the world of techno. The lineup of the eighth release of the famous compilation by Michael Mayer is consistently exceptional, featuring stars like Superpitcher, Gui Boratto, The Rice Twins, and many other musicians on the double-disc Total 8. It is already being called one of the most melodic and pleasant compilations from the label. In addition to the CD, the release will also come out as a triple vinyl. As before, one disc includes the label's best releases of the year, while the other features a selection of brand-new, unreleased tracks. Total 8 also includes a composition from the upcoming album by Supermayer (Superpitcher and Michael Mayer), which is expected to be the techno equivalent of The Who's rock opera 'Tommy'. A special party by Kompakt at the Pop Festival in Cologne from August 15 to 19, 2007, is dedicated to the release. The event will feature The Field, Jennifer Cardini, Burger/Voigt, and others.
