Asian Dub Foundation is the best ethno-electronic collective in Europe, the founders and leaders of the London "Asian Underground" movement. Their status as global stars is beyond debate: ADF collaborates with labels such as Virgin International, Mute Records, Polygram, and EMI. They have performed alongside Beastie Boys and Primal Scream, and in 1998 they received the BBC Asian Award for Music. They have been loved by Irvine Welsh and Bobby Gillespie. The album ADF Enemy of the Enemy (2003) was produced by Adrian Sherwood, known for his work with Death in Vegas and Air, with contributions from renowned Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor and Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien.
During their existence since 1993, the band has experimented with various musical styles, ranging from punk, reggae, and hip-hop to ambient, breakbeat, and traditional Bengali songs.
