Клубные российские · 26.05.2010
On June 5 at the State Center for Contemporary Art (Moscow, Barrikadnaya metro station, Zoologicheskaya Street, 13, building 2), a concert of the Bedroom Community label (Iceland, Reykjavik) will take place as part of the European Whale Watching Tour by Bedroom Community. The concert will feature: The founder of the label, producer, composer, performer Valgeir Sigurdsson, world-renowned for his work with Bjork, Radiohead, mum, Anthony and the Johnsons, CocoRosie, Will Oldham, Kronos Quartet, Howie B. Valgeir is the author of several original soundtracks, including the Icelandic documentary film sensation of 2010, 'Dreamland' (Draumalandid). American folk artist Sam Amidon, whose 2008 album 'All is well' released on Bedroom Community through collaboration with renowned contemporary classical composer and producer Nico Muly, is also an artist of the label. The album brought Sam acclaim as a unique performer. His new album 'I see the sign', released in spring 2010, solidified the success of the young American on the world stage. The aesthetic of his songs draws on the work of the Apache Indians, processed by skillful masters - Nico and Valgeir - sounding more relevant than ever today. A newcomer to the label, but certainly not in music, is 30-year-old Icelandic musician, classical composer, and conductor of the Icelandic chamber orchestra Isafold - Daniel Bjarnason - who, until 2009, was hidden behind outstanding works of many Icelandic and English artists. Auteur and conductor of orchestral parts for Sigur Ros, Daniel released a solo album of contemporary classical music titled 'Processions' on Bedroom Community in 2009, revealing himself to the world as an independent composer. It's not easy to predict how the concert will look. Essentially, the performance is a one-and-a-half-hour collaboration between the artists - sometimes improvisation, somewhere the best of Bedroom Community pieces. We offer you a short video about the first part of the Whale Watching Tour, which was a huge success in Europe in the fall of 2009 with the participation of all label artists. Many are interested in the style of the musicians - this question remains open. If this somehow orients you - for Bedroom Community on the stage of the State Center for Contemporary Art, there will be set up: Fender Rhodes, Korg, a drum set, 2 tables with approximately 20 kg of samplers, controllers, several guitars, banjo, tambourine - and a black grand piano. A unique show, an unforgettable audio experience that has shaken the inner world of tens of thousands of people.
