Layo & Bushwacka are back in Moscow!

The first event in this year from the World Wide Clubbing series is dedicated to Paris. This city has always been famous for its vibrant nightlife, glamorous nightclubs, and incredibly unique dance music. The special atmosphere of Paris leaves its mark even on the inherently international house movement. Any party held in this city inevitably takes on a romantic character, filled with the atmosphere of this truly amazing place.

Layo & Bushwacka!

They are incredibly different. Matthew 'Bushwacka' Benjamin is an energetic man with an explosive character, a perpetual engine that does not require recharging. Layo Paskin is an introverted, self-absorbed nature, elevated and romantic. But together, these two diametrically opposed people make up a unique creative duo - Layo & Bushwacka, unparalleled in their creativity.

Matthew Benjamin was passionate about music from childhood - even in school, Matt was a member of the 'London School Symphony Orchestra.' But, as they say, he played classical music under duress. His real passion was underground raves. However, Benjamin's path to the DJ booth was not easy. By day, he worked as a salesperson at Harrods, and at night he spun records in the studio of the pirate radio station Radio Rental. It was there that the persistent young man was noticed by Mr. C - a house producer and frontman of The Shamen. He offered Matt a job as a sound engineer assistant in his studio. Simultaneously with his studio work, he started playing in clubs, gradually gaining a reputation as a first-class DJ.

As for Layo Paskin, this reputation seemed to come to him from birth. Layo grew up in the prestigious area of North London, in a family of intellectuals. His father was an architect, and his mother was a writer. However, Layo flatly refused to follow in his parents' footsteps, preferring schmoozing in bars in Cadmen Market to school activities. It was there that he first took to the turntables, immersing himself in London's nightlife. His father did not stand in the way of his son's hobbies. On the contrary, he introduced Layo to the same Mr. C, for whom he built The End club.

Before long, The End became London's main club landmark. The most progressive music was played here, and the most advanced British clubbers gathered here. It so happened that from the very beginning, Layo and Matt were behind the turntables at The End. Their DJ fame grew along with the club's reputation. Their names were constantly mentioned together. In the end, there was nothing left for Matt and Layo but to start working together.

The first album by the freshly baked duo Low Life was recognized as the sensation of 1998. Critics were impressed by the unusual blend of different styles, as well as the seemingly strange combination of wild energy and pensive romanticism. The secret of their success was simple. Matt curated the energy in Layo & Bushwacka! while Layo was responsible for the beautiful melodies. Ice and fire finally found a common language.

The release of the second album 'Night Works' on the XL Records label only solidified the duo's position. Now they were welcome guests in the most prestigious clubs in the world - at L'Enser in Paris, Space in Ibiza, Sirena in Brazil. And everywhere, they received an enthusiastic reception from the crowd, who were delighted by Matt and Layo's unconventional musical thinking.

Six months ago, Moscow clubbers were captivated by Layo & Bushwacka's unique DJ technique - at the Halloween XIII party, Matt and Layo presented their new album 'All Night Long' to the audience.

And now, due to numerous requests from clubbers in the capital, Layo & Bushwacka! are returning to Moscow with a new collection of dance hits. A full house is guaranteed!

The World Wide Clubbing event featuring Layo & Bushwacka! will take place on March 12, 2004, at The Warehouse (1/6 Skladnaya Street).
