Le Hammond Inferno is Markus (Marcus Liesenfeld) and Holger (Holger Beier), owners of Bungalow Records - one of the most authoritative labels in the field of dance music. Since the early 90s, Le Hammond Inferno has been establishing contacts with the music industry worldwide and initially became popular as DJs. From time to time, they went on tours as a 'support band' with friends such as Blur, Stereolab, Saint Etienne, Pizzicato 5, Dimitri From Paris, and others. Holger and Markus are especially beloved in Japan, where they are invited so frequently that their visits to the Land of the Rising Sun exceed those of their old compatriots, Scorpions. Holger and Markus founded the small but internationally active label Bungalow back in 1995. Their first album, 'Easy Leasing Superstar,' was released in Japan on Escalator Records. Their European release, the eponymous single, featured a hit track that was showcased in a Nike computer game advertisement. Le Hammond Inferno's music encapsulates funk, groove, disco, house, breakbeat, Latin, hip-hop, pop, and punk all in one MODERN, PROGRESSIVE sound. Their first European album, 'My First Political Dance Album,' is a concentrated essence of the entire label, blending and blurring genre boundaries into a sound of the 2000s. The album is not only intellectually engaging but also full of humor, offering music as entertainment: for the mind, the feet, and, ultimately, for fun. Le Hammond Inferno's lively dance music prowess sets them apart from competitors, with tracks like 'Herbert' and the exuberant anthem 'Speech Defects' standing out. Alongside their signature big-beat reminiscent of Groove Armada, they also present calm yet intricate songs suitable for home listening.
