Legend of the European club scene - Bob Sinclar in Moscow
Клубные российские · 09.10.2003
In fact, Bob Sinclar, a DJ, founder of the Yellow Productions label, playboy, regular at the most expensive clubs, and a man with great connections, is a fiction. The man who invented Bob Sinclar is called Chris, Chris le Friant, also known as Chris the FrenchKiss. Bob Sinclar is his alter ego, glamorous, vivid, shocking and famous wherever house music is playing. Chris was born in Paris and still loves the district where his youth passed - the gay district Le Marais. According to him, this place is where the pulse of Paris life beats. It's not surprising that a young man who grew up in such a place started leading a club life fairly early. Since the moment he first saw a DJ playing with two turntables at Le Palace, he understood that his entire future life would belong to show business. And so it happened. In 1994, Chris, together with his friend DJ Yellow, created the label Yellow Productions, which became the first label to develop French club music of the 90s, collaborating with artists such as Dimitri from Paris and others. 'We aimed at such labels as Blue Note, Prestige, and Mo Wax. We really wanted to achieve the same image as them, relying on French music.' By 1998, he decided to move away from funk and acid jazz, and under the mask of Bob Sinclar, released his debut LP, causing a storm of enthusiasm on European dance floors with tracks like 'GymTonic', dedicated to Jane Fonda, and 'The Ghetto.' At that time, the attributes of the sweet life fascinated Bob Sinclar: powerful cars, beautiful girls dancing to his music, expensive clubs. Two years later, he released 'Champ Elysees.' This work differed from everything previous with a more complex sound and a more serious, thoughtful approach. This time, he was driven not only by the desire to be recognized on all dance floors without exception. 'The first album was just a collection of tracks,' says Chris, 'I was in a hurry to finish it and didn't even think about this material as a complete album. But the second one is the result of a year's work, and it's worked out from beginning to end.' Bob's latest record is called 'III.' Thirteen tracks of quality club music with telling names like 'I'm Not Perfect' or 'Kiss My Eyes' became a long-awaited nice gift for house music lovers and just for those who love to dance in a good club and have a fun time. A little nostalgia for the 90s, a bit of the trendiest sounds, a touch of elusive French flair - that is Bob Sinclar's latest album. The tour dedicated to the release included a variety of performances. In Moscow, Bob promises to play house music, including disco classics, original African recordings from his own label, and, in the end, a bit more electronic music.
