Top 100 DJs of the Planet according to DJmag

The annual six-week poll conducted by DJMag has ended. This time, around one hundred thousand music lovers and experts from around the world participated in selecting the top one hundred DJs on the planet. For the third year in a row, the best DJ has been named as the Dutch DJ Tiesto, which is not surprising considering his popularity - he has performed in front of a billion-strong audience at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games and fills stadiums with thirty thousand fans. In previous years, only grandmasters like Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox have reached the top spot twice. It is also worth noting that once again, the top ten ranking is dominated by DJs playing trance in its various forms, with the exception of perhaps John Digweed, while the universally loved Benny Benassi from Russia is recognized as the most successful newcomer, entering the ranking at number 18. It is heartening to know that over half of the top 100 DJs have visited Russia this year.
