Marshall Jefferson to Perform at First

He is one of those people who can rightly be called the godfather of house music. Among many, one person particularly stands out, having defined the future of house music and dance music as a whole. His name is Marshall Jefferson. In 1986, he was the first to use piano in house music. This idea was so innovative that many labels considered this style not to be house. Eventually, this record became platinum, and house music can no longer be imagined without piano. Furthermore, his list of achievements is boundless – he invented acid house and promoted it together with his pupil DJ Pierre. He gave life to projects such as Ten City, Kim Mazelle, and Ce Ce Rogers. His old tracks became the progenitors of deep house, garage, and techno. It seems that Marshall moved from style to style, but at that time he just wanted all his tracks to sound different. He influenced most of the now-established DJs: Roy Davis Jr, Felix Da Housecat, Lil Louis, Frankie Knuckles, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and many others. After a four-year retreat in the studio, in early 1994, Marshall returned to his first love – DJing. Now he is the greatest from the Chicago school still performing on the stage, participating in all major festivals in Europe, where he is traditionally a headliner. Marshall continues to write music, and in the last 2 years, three of his tracks reached the Top 5 in the UK, his style has shifted towards joyful house, and he no longer resembles the Chicago recluse of the early 90s.
