Satoshi Tomi is the headliner of the third party of the Masters of Renaissance series, held in Russia by Underground Sound of Moscow and the Renaissance label. The cult DJ travels to Moscow following in the still warm footsteps of Steve Lawler and Eric Prydz. The resident of the legendary British label will perform a set at the Gazgallery club, the basis of which will be his latest disc Renaissance: The Master Series Pt. 9.
In 2007, the British label Renaissance entrusted Satoshi Tomi to become the author of the next compilation from the Renaissance: The Master Series. The world's most famous Japanese DJ and producer, as always, coped with his task perfectly: he released a double CD, which, with all its underground focus, instantly turned into the main source of hits for the European, American and even Russian charts.
The Moscow premiere of Renaissance: The Master Series Pt.9 should become one of the key musical events of the coming year. The Master, whose passions are currently focused on dark-tech-progressive, will be accompanied this night by USOM residents Abelle&Beekeper and Serge Que, as well as the Now&Wow project. Since February 2008, the avant-garde of domestic techno - Volodya Trapeznikov and Mike Spirit - has been given the small dance floor of the Gazgallery at the Masters of Renaissance parties.
The headliner of the third Masters of Renaissance party, Satoshi Tomi, a recognized genius in the dance underground, took the first steps in his musical career as a keyboard player in the late 80s. Of the millions of his admirers around the world, not everyone will believe that their idol spent his childhood and youth learning piano passages and composing his own melodies. In the person of Satoshi Tomi, the world lost a good pianist and found a brilliant DJ thanks to an accident - a meeting with Frankie Knuckles. The success of their very first joint composition, Tears, forced the young Japanese to radically change his life. In 1989, he came to the United States and became part of the popular Def Mix Crew, based in New York. Taking on remixes for such musical celebrities as Simply Red, David Bowie, U2, Mariah Carey and Misia, Satoshi Tomi quickly attracted attention with his own unique sound.
Satoshi Tomi released his full-length debut album Full Lick in 2000. The record, on which the Japanese recruited Robert Owens and former Sneaker Pimps lead singer Kelly Ali, cemented his reputation as an extraordinary producer and musician. It is worth noting that by this time no one doubted Satoshi’s DJ authority either - posters with his name could be seen on the streets of cities located in various parts of the world.
In 2001, Satoshi Tomi, as befits any recognized electronic master, established his own record company, SAW Recordings. The label's policy, aimed at giving young talented experimentalists the opportunity to express themselves, has led to a number of major discoveries and hundreds of successful releases, strengthening the authority of its owner on the international electronic scene.Satoshie Tomiie (Japan)
