Club-restaurant "Shanti" (Onlyprojects) presents a performance by Mike Shannon. Mike Shannon is one of the central figures of the Canadian electronic scene, a brilliant interpreter of techno. Mike was born in 1978 and started DJing at the age of 12 when his father bought him a mixer. Periodic trips to nearby Detroit, where Mike bought records and attended parties, fueled his interest in techno. By the early 90s, Mike was already a professional DJ, organizing his own parties. By the end of the last decade, he had a Friday residency at Industry club in Toronto and his own label, Cynosure Recordings. Later, he moved to Montreal, joined the local glitch-techno scene, headlined the renowned Canadian electronic festival Mutek, and befriended Jeff Milligan. In 2000, they embarked on a European tour, showcasing their unique, aggressive playing style. Shannon continued his transformation from DJ to producer, and in 2002, his success received international recognition and high professional Slight of HandForce Inc (www.force-tracks.net). His second LP "Possible Conclusions to Stories that Never End" was released on Berlin's ~scape (www.scape-music.de), where Jan Jelinek and Pole were also released. Shannon's records are also released on Logistic, Onitor, Spectral, and Wagon Repair (www.wagonrepair.ca). Mike Shannon currently resides in Spain.
