Producer Alva Noto is releasing a collaborative album with the well-known German performer and owner of a unique voice, Blixa Bargeld. The album will be titled Mimicry and will be released on the Raster-Noton label this fall – on October 4. Bargeld and Carsten Nicolai (Carsten Nikolai - Alva Noto's real name) first collaborated within a performance in San Francisco in 2007. By that time, Bargeld had already amassed experience from his own group, Einstuerzende Neubauten, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Nicolai was developing his career as an electronic musician. The result of their collaboration was the project ANBB, whose mini-album Ret Marut Handshake was released earlier this year on Raster-Noton. The album Mimicry will feature new tracks from the duo, selected tracks from Ret Marut Handshake, and the American folk song 'I Wish I Was a Mole in the Ground,' performed by Bargeld. The release will be available in CD format and on vinyl, accompanied by a special booklet with Bargeld's lyrics and drawings made during the album's recording.
