Worldwide release from legendary DJ John Digweed - Transitions

John is famous for his dj-mix compilations and remixes. Listing all his releases would take more than one page - performers such as M People, Underworld, Quincy Jones, New Order, and Way Out West have entrusted him with arranging their songs. In 1995, John released his first compilation as a dj mix on the Renaissance label. This compilation, titled Mix Collection, set a standard of quality for similar compilations for many years to come. Subsequently, compilations were released for Northern Exposure and Global Underground, where the former showcased John's 'light' side and the latter his 'heavy' side. Eleven years later, Digweed returned to Renaissance with the release of the album Transitions (named after his weekly radio show). The album contains fifteen unique, carefully curated tracks, including the single 'Warung Beach' by the author himself. Unlike Northern Exposure and Global Underground, John Digweed's new work is a journey through the musical discoveries of the mix's author. Transitions combines solid beats, which Digweed loves, and the smooth melody of 'On The Run' (by Popnonname). The eclecticism is evident - such different-sounding tracks as 'Roots 4 Acid' (Rocco), 'Feelin' (producer Oliver Lieb), and the electro hit 'Knights of Columbus' (On Spec) exist within the framework of one mix. The music selection in Transitions is akin to colorful pieces of glass in a kaleidoscope, together forming a vivid picture. Elements of dub, German minimal techno with hints of trance - John Digweed once again confirmed his status as an innovator and prominent disc jockey. John plans to release Transitions compilations on a regular basis. 'The records you choose as a DJ for a compilation should be durable, and the material should be presented correctly. You can't just throw hits into a compilation, one after another, if you hope to attract your audience's attention,' says John Digweed. - 'For me, playing the right record at the right moment is everything. You won't be blown away from the first track in my set, but give me time for 3 or 4 tunes and I'll 'get you'. The soundtracks you hear in my compilations sound nothing like the original discs from the local music store.'
