I don't care! I'm from Paris

The French club scene constantly surprises the global community with incredibly successful electronic projects. Here you can find idols of modern youth like Justice, DJ Mehdi, and Uffie, as well as labels like Ed Banger and Kitsune with their nu-rave aesthetics and heavy bass, and vibrant representatives of the second wave of French Touch, lovers of cosmic music such as Kavinsky, Sebastian Tellier, and Turzi from Record Makers. There's also the somewhat strange Tigersushi label, releasing both reissues of old disco and modern electro-rock, as well as a whole bunch of labels specializing in electro techno and electroclash like the hacker-friendly Goodlife, the Vitalic-owned Citizen, the Fixmer-owned Planete Rouge, and the old-time Versatile Records with its deep house releases by I:Cube and Joakim. The list of heroes of the French dance scene can go on endlessly, as there have been so many in recent years. We'd rather introduce you to them closely at the new I Love Rien, I'm Parisien parties. Each month, the most relevant French musicians will come straight from Paris to play their concerts at Mio. Since we want to present the widest picture of their dance culture, at these parties you will hear a variety of music: from minimal techno to electro, from nu-disco to electro rock, from progressive to electroclash - all the best and most interesting that France has to offer today. A party once a month for those who like to discover something new, who want to dance to high-quality melodies, and simply for those who enjoy having fun. And of course, for all Francophiles. The guest of the first party will be The Micronauts, also known as Christophe Monier - a musician, producer, and DJ. One of his sayings is: 'Following formulas bores me. I can't do that. If I could, I would probably be more productive.' Although the artist is somewhat joking here, productivity is not something he lacks. Over a career of more than fifteen years, he has participated in various electronic projects (Discotique, The Eurostars, Impulsion), created a lot of his own music and remixes for popular groups including Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, OMD, and Death In Vegas, released on Science - a sublabel of the giant Virgin, and also established his own label Micronautics. I LOVE RIEN, I'M PARISIEN will feature The Micronauts (Live, Paris, Citizen records/Micronautics) as well as DJs: Troubles (UWe, Paris), Marat Hussein, Sandra at Mio Dj Cafe on April 5, 2008, starting at 23:00.
