Our Person at the Red Bull Music Academy

For the eighth consecutive year, the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) gathers DJs and music producers from all over the world - to exchange experiences, ideas, and to share creative plans, inspiration, and new musical trends. "Music academies" have already taken place in Berlin, Dublin, New York, London, São Paulo, Cape Town, and Rome.

This year, RBMA will take place in Seattle, in a city that has hosted legends of the global music scene such as Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. Russia will be represented in the USA this year by Nina Kravets, a girl from the Siberian city of Irkutsk. Before becoming a DJ, Nina worked in the magazine "Ptyuch": she reviewed new records and wrote interviews. After the closure of the magazine, she worked at the booking agency "Caviar Lounge", organising performances for foreign DJs and musicians. Since 2004, she has worked as a DJ, performing in Moscow clubs and cafes. Becoming a finalist of RBMA was not easy for Nina, as 2500 applications were submitted from around the world. Each entry was listened to by at least two people to ensure that the judgment was as objective as possible. As a result, at the beginning of November, 60 lucky individuals from 37 countries will travel to the USA, where they will study for two "semesters" under the guidance of the most famous world musicians and DJs.
