Nicolas Jaar - guest of Insane Fridays

An unexpected addition to Insane Fridays is the not quite ordinary guest. Despite his young age of nineteen, wunderkind Nicolas Jaar has managed to release prominent records on Wolf+Lamb, Circus Company, and establish his own label Clown and Sunset. Insane Fridays, the Friday parties at TM Cafe, have earned a reputation as a forge of new sound and a primary supplier of 'fresh' Western musicians to Moscow dancefloors. Focusing on progressive tech-house, nu-disco, and indie dance, the promoters have already introduced the TM Cafe audience to an array of fascinating international artists - such as French artists Noze and Dyed Soundorom, Americans Droog, and British artist Jamie Jones. The Friday lineup is scheduled months in advance - it is known that in August and September we can expect meetings with Mr.C (August 27) and Damian Lazarus (September 24). However, surprises sometimes happen. At the last moment, American Nicolas Jaar, a cosmopolitan young man with all the makings of a genius, was added to the Insane Fridays lineup. He was born in New York, raised in Chile, and has lived in Berlin, San Diego, and Mexico City. At fourteen, he recorded his first track, and at seventeen, he released his debut EP on Wolf+Lamb. Seth Troxler immediately remixed his track 'Student,' recognizing the young man's serious potential. Since then, Nicolas's releases have come out on Circus Company, Wolf+Lamb, Double Standart, and the label Clown and Sunset founded in 2005 together with Soul Keita and Nikita Quasim. At the end of the year, Jaar promises to present his debut album to the public. Nicolas has never been to Russia, but some mystical ties connect him to our country. In 2010, one of his tracks was titled 'Russian Dolls' and, due to its complex musical structure, truly resembled a matryoshka. In his excellent podcast for the Resident Advisor site, Nicolas unexpectedly included an original track... by Alla Pugacheva. The true reasons for Jaar's unexpected love for Russian music will be revealed at the Insane Fridays party at TM Cafe. As always on Fridays, a strict face control is in place at TM Cafe: the ideologists of Insane Fridays want to see a well-prepared audience on the dancefloor. According to the established tradition, the guest list for entry is compiled on the event's [Facebook page](http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145164368828267).
