Ninja Tune в Moscow

In October, two clients of the legendary Ninja Tune label will visit Moscow - Amon Tobin and Dj Food. The performances will take place on November 16th and 30th, respectively, at the Ikra club. Amon already performed at Ikra a year and a half ago, but now he is traveling as part of the “Canadamania” project jointly with the Canadian Embassy, ​​although how this will affect the performance is not very clear. In Moscow, Amon will play his latest album - "Foley Room", perhaps the most interesting material of the musician in the entire history of his creative activity, in which you can hear Tobin's neighbors singing in the shower, cats eating rats, ants swarming in the grass, and a hellish motorcycle roaring in neutral. It’s quite difficult to fit all this into a genre framework, but you can try: here you can find abstract hip-hop, smart drum and bass, lounge and ambient, IDM and psycho-folk - such an assortment. It should also be noted that Amon prefers vinyl to live instruments; all his music is an intricacy of samples, computer programs and his own developments.
On October 30th, another, no less interesting ninja samurai will perform - Kevin Fawkes, aka DJ Food. In general, the project appeared in the early 90s, then it included the founders of Ninja Tune, the Cold Cut team, along with Patrick Carpenter and Kevin Fawkes, they released five discs in the "Jazz Breaks" series, in which they mixed hip-hop with jazz, lounge and so on and so on... Now DJ Food is one person - Kevin Fawkes, producer of the radio show "Solid Steel", author of perhaps the most eclectic mixes "Now, Listen" and "Now, Listen" 2" together with DK. It’s unclear what “DJ Food” will play in Moscow, it could be funk (Food is currently busy creating a tribute to the late James Brown), independent black hip-hop, psychedelic rock, some of his own stuff, or (most likely) all together, but in any case it will be very tasty.
