New life for the Versus club

Not long ago, DJ Misha Spirit was appointed as the custodian of the musical atmosphere of the Versus club. 44100Hz got in touch with Misha and asked for comments on the changes that have taken place within the club's walls: "Moscow has long lacked a good dance club where high-quality European progressive and, as Ukrainians say, fat house music would be played. A club where true icons of the domestic club business would spin their sets, DJs whose sets you hardly ever hear in Moscow. Unfortunately, Versus opened towards the end of the year in a rushed manner, and the development direction was not immediately chosen. At the end of the year, the small dance floor and the large bar area nearby closed for remodeling, and it was decided to start a new club and music policy from the 2008 season. The opening parties of the 2008 season will take place on February 15 and 16. Such DJs as Kolya, Grad, Dmitry Filatov, Swanky Tunes, Danila, Petr Levinsky, Pasha Koreets, Serge Q, Arkadiy Air, Kiriloff, and Anatoly Vornsov have already agreed to perform at the club. The small dance floor will be hosted by the well-known domestic house label Deepology represented by Kostya Elektrik, Quazar, DJ One, and invited European DJs. Anatoly Ice, Feel, and Linario will also play their sets there. Let's not forget about our friends from St. Petersburg - Kostya Lavskiy is booked for March 8. As for the invited DJs, agreements have been reached for performances by Tom Neville (already on February 29), DVJ Dan Tait (Pioneer, Space, Ibiza), The Beatthiefs, Antony Papa, Pako & Frederik, Scope, D-Nox & Beckers, and others. Of course, there will be performance support, as is customary in good clubs, and videos, special video installations! Specifically for the spring-summer 2008 season, three legal double discs with mixes from the DJs of the new music brand Versus will be released. The discs will be sold in the best music stores and distributed as invitations to the parties, so you will definitely hear these mixes and you will like them as much as they are liked by our illustrious focus group now. The first disc in the series will be released in early March. The design of the club will not undergo radical changes. The pool on the second floor will be used for parties, but it will be seriously utilized mostly in the summer. The club features good Nexo sound, two dance floors that are truly pleasant to be on. And, of course, the bridge paying tribute to the small dance floor of the old club Gorod has already been noted by many. We are not doing anything new, we are simply uniting under the roof of the club a multitude of professionals in the club culture who simply need a residency in Moscow. The main goal of the new Versus brand is to give people who love house and British progressive culture the opportunity to listen to it from the best representatives of this direction. Entrance to the club is absolutely free, except for special events. Also, the club will have a system of club discount cards that will prevent you from asking more questions about pricing policies. The club's website www.versusclub.ru will soon be relaunched, where you will be able to see the lineup for the next three months, as well as all planned events and guests. As for my residency at the club Gorod, I will, of course, continue to play at my alma mater. Many interesting events are planned by the city's promoters, and I will also take part in them. Furthermore, an agreement has been reached between the promoters Underground Sound Of Moscow and Now&Wow to collaborate, and now the second dance floor of the Renessaince brand events will be Hosted by Now&Wow. Already on February 16 at the party with Eric Prydz aka Pryda at the Now & Wow dance floor, Volodya Trapeznikov, special guest Dr. Spyder, and I will perform. This concerns my DJ activities. As for the art management, I am now, as they say, the "custodian of the musical atmosphere" of the Versus club. I will be glad to see all of you on February 15 and 16.
