Novation Launchpad – Compact Controller for Ableton

The music equipment developer Novation has introduced the Launchpad controller, specifically created for Ableton Live. The device can be used in DJ sets, live performances, studio work, and is mainly intended for launching clips. For this purpose, 64 buttons and a vertical row of additional buttons for launching scenes have been allocated. The package includes a special version of Ableton 8. The advantage of the new system is that up to three Launchpads can be connected to one computer. Another positive aspect is the compactness of the device. Its weight is about 700 g, dimensions: 239 x 239 mm. Additionally, it is powered via USB, eliminating the need for a power adapter. Deliveries of the controller will begin in November.
