New Release from Defected

Fashionable New York house producer Dennis Ferrer has recorded a new CD mix featuring tracks by Kerri Chandler, Basic Channel, and Osundale. "In the House" will be released in May. Ferrer has been producing music for 20 years, with 2007 promising to be his most successful year yet. Known for his collaborations with Jerome Sydenham ("Sandcastles", "Timbuktu"), last year's masterpiece "Son of Raw" quickly made its way into the DJ bags of Ricardo Villalobos, Âme, and Ryan Elliott. The mix's title track is Ferrer's fresh reinterpretation of Telepopmusik's "Love Can Damage Your Health," an undisputed hit. Traditionally for the Defected label's "In The House" series, the release consists of three discs: two mix discs transitioning from deep-tech rhythms to soulful house and techno, and a third disc with Ferrer's favorite timeless tracks from artists like Grace Jones, Roy Ayers, and Liquid Liquid. According to Ferrer, these are the tracks that inspired him since childhood and the music he grew up with in New York.
