New Year's Sunburn Festival in Goa

British label Defected Records will present their stage at the three-day Sunburn festival, which will take place on the last weekend of December on Candolim Beach in Goa. Defected Records have invited Shapeshifters, ATFC, and Shovell as headliners. In parallel, the label is preparing to release the compilation 'Defected In the House – Goa 08'. Once one of the main wintering spots for multinational ravers, Goa has been exclusively a place for beach holidays and yoga practice for several years now. This is due to the local authorities' ban on hosting the musical trance events that the state was once famous for. Sunburn Festival is one of the few legalized festivals in Goa, conceived, as often happens, by two friends who visited Ibiza six years ago. The first pre-New Year's party of the friends took place on the beach at Zanzibar bar for fifteen people. Over time, the annual event gained popularity. Its space expanded to three dance floors and seven bars, and the organizers created the promotion group Submerge, hosting up to ten alternative parties - against the backdrop of Bollywood dances - per month in different cities of India.
