New participants of the Sonar festival

The latest artists announced to be at this year's Sonar Festival in Barcelona include Richie Hawtin, James Holden and Modeselektor. Hawtin will play at Sonar by Night and will be joined for the first time by VJ Ali Demirel. New additions to the night's lineup include eclectic Bpitch Control DJ duo Modeselektor, Japanese erotic cabaret Romantica and Puerto Rican reggaeton outfit Calle 13. Madrid's minimal techno ambassadors Damian Schwartz and Tadeo are preparing a stunning collaborative set.
The daytime program Sonar by Day also added new stars. Among them is James Holden, who is rumored to be turning heads with a special set that is radically different from what we are used to hearing from this DJ. Einsturzende Neubauten vocalist Blixa Bargeld will perform with Chinese avant-garde electronic artists FM, the same ones who invented Buddha Machine. In addition, at the festival you can hear experimental hip-hop from Infinite Livex vs. Stade and kitsch pop from Hey Willpower.
As for the new releases from the labels, Minus will present JPLS and Tractile, and Rush Hours Records will present Hearin Aid and Jay Scarlett & Cinnaman. Matthew Herbert and his Accidental are preparing to proudly present Setsubun Beat Unit, Mica & the Cluster and The Invisible to the public.
