French electro-tech star Joakim revealed this week about his upcoming album "Monsters & Silly Songs" and denied claims that he hates acid house and electro, posted on the site family-house.net. "This phrase has been seen by many, but no one understood that it was just a joke. I was extremely surprised that many people took it seriously," says Joakim, "Of course, I love this music. I really love both acid house and electro."
Based in Paris, the producer admitted that his album is aimed more at America and England than France, where, as he says, the reaction to his music is more ambiguous than anywhere else. "I think I am more known in France because there are not that many producers here, but on the other hand, compared to England, there are not many people who ask me to participate in various musical projects. Perhaps there are more people in France who know me, but fewer who like what I do," the musician reflects.
Joakim’s experience is somewhat reminiscent of the French group Air, who a few years ago confessed that France was the last country to gift them fame, rather offense than respect, after their debut album "Moon Safari," which sold millions worldwide. The album "Monsters & Silly Songs" will soon be released on the Studio K7 label.
