New album by Messer Chups - Heretic Channel

In February, the project of St. Petersburg musician Oleg Gitarkin, Messer Chups, will release a new album called Heretic Channel on the Solnze Records label. Recorded live in November 2008 at the 'Melodiya' studio in St. Petersburg, located in a Protestant church building, Heretic Channel features brand new material that has rarely been performed at concerts. The album is also notable for the involvement of new musicians - drummer Alexander Belkov, vocalist Alexander Skvortsov, known for the band 'Bad Influence,' and the resident organist of the St. Petersburg 'Melodiya' studio, Olga Chumikova. Messer Chups has gained international popularity, with numerous tours in the USA, Israel, Turkey, and almost all European countries, as well as album releases in the USA, Australia, and Japan, not to mention numerous CD compilations worldwide featuring the group's tracks. Since its formation in 1998, Messer Chups has gone through several stages of development and lineup changes. Today, the project is fully immersed in the gothic world of 50s horror, with the group's concerts accompanied by video footage from old science fiction and erotic films. With the arrival of bass guitarist Svetlana 'Zombie Girl,' the group has acquired a new face and style, defined as surf music reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino's films.
