New Year in Propaganda

It is hard to condense the mind-blowing creative biography of Dr. Bob Jones into a couple of paragraphs. A living legend, a DJ with a forty-year career, a producer, musician, journalist, and radio host, collector and expert, innovator and sponsor, at 57, he shows no signs of slowing down as he travels the world, spreading eternal good vibes. We were fortunate to witness his fantastic set at the Big Chill festival in 2005. Although it was three o'clock in the afternoon and the sun was shining brightly, everyone was dancing, and that’s about five thousand people: little children and prim English ladies, punks and rastafarians, party-goers and famous musicians, tourists and security personnel, all danced with all their might and smiled so that there was a feeling of genuine musical paradise on earth, and it was a sin not to shed a tear of happiness even with a clear head.
Yet, it should be noted that Bob Jones was the first DJ to bring jazz and soul to British club dance floors back in 1967, produced many magnificent musicians, including Al Green, Izit, Bobby Womack, worked with The Temptations, Terry Callier. His own club nights, The Surgery and The Lift, which became residences for Phil Asher, Idjut Boys, Harvey, Harri, were recognized as Best Soul Club in the mid-90s, and Bob himself was named Best British Club DJ in 95/96 and 97. Bob Jones' radio show featuring Jill Scott, Will Downing, Isaac Hayes, Kerri Chandler, Jerome Sydenham has also received international awards multiple times. And, of course, the label Chillifunk, which Bob founded, releases works by artists like Phil Asher, Nathan Haines, Vanessa Freeman, Yam Who?, Snowboy, Marlena Shaw, East West Connection... Such a magnificent biography can be quoted endlessly...
But for us today, it is especially important that we are looking forward to the set of the legendary Bob Jones at Propaganda on a very special New Year’s Night 2007!

December 31, Sunday, from midnight on January 1 until 8 a.m. Propaganda celebrates New Year with DJs Kosov and Tony Key, as well as special guest The Legendary, Dr. Bob Jones (UK) - so soulful it hurts!
