New Mix about Kazantip

The result of the combined efforts of true veterans of the Russian dance scene – DJ Fonary, Dmitry Postovalov from the group Arrival, and singer Lika Star in 1997 became a real club bestseller and the anthem of the Republic of Kazantip. People returned from the festival carrying the melody of this wonderful composition in their hearts. This was the first real "summer" hit – it sounded on all club dance floors and was well known to all clubbers. A year later, this composition became the official anthem of the Republic of Kazantip. A video shot in the summer of 1998 by President of Kazantip Nikita Marshunok made its way into the "hot" rotation of two music channels – MTV and "MuzTV". Unfortunately, the lack of reliable statistics prevents us from counting the number of copies sold of the track, but by the most modest estimates, several tens of thousands of CDs were sold by music pirates.

Exactly ten years have passed since then, and now "Kazantip" is coming back to life. Rising stars of electronic music have recorded their own versions of this track, and this autumn a maxi-single with remixes from Alexander Krasovsky ("Melodica"), Vadim Zhukov, Dmitry "Bobina" Almazov, Mikhail Pravda, and Brit Sean Tyas will be released on Vladimir Fonarev's new label "Signs".

And already now we can confidently say that the remixes of "Kazantip" are largely repeating the fate of the original. The interest of dance radio stations, including Western ones, in "Kazantip" is great – the remixes are already rotating on the air of BBC Radio One, DFM, Radio Maximum, Radio Records, Ukrainian Kiss FM, and the internet radio station Ministry of Sound.
