Now and Wow: Acid is Back. Hardfloor in Moscow

It all started with the acid record 'Hardtrance Acperience', played to death by numerous DJs and becoming one of the anthems of electronic culture. In 1992, this record was released by the guys from Düsseldorf, Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker, who had formed the duo Hardfloor a year earlier. Right after the first vinyl release, critics took notice of the promising Germans, and after a few more works, dubbed them techno giants worthy to stand alongside genre classics like Sven Väth. Especially since the 'Hardtrance Acperience' record came out as the eighth release on the Harthouse label, which later became as legendary as Hardfloor themselves. On this German label, often collaborating with Eye Q, all the most significant hits of the Düsseldorf guys were released. In 1993, the duo released the track 'Trancescript', and a year later - the vinyls 'Mr. Anderson/Fish 'n Chips' and 'Into the Nature' with a remix by Richie Hawtin. Hardfloor were among the first electronic groups to set the trend of mixing different styles. The guys from Düsseldorf started mixing hip-hop, electro, and breakbeat with a hard beat. Although in the late 90s Hardfloor started releasing both techno and lo-fi, their remixes started to feature hints of trip-hop and IDM, and Ramon Zenker even produced the pop hit 'Samba Di Janeiro'. Throughout the years, Hardfloor's main feature was the sound of the Roland TB 303 drum machine. 'The TB 303 was considered Hardfloor's instrument, Oliver pushed this instrument to its limits - says the famous techno artist Pascal F.E.O.S. - And when any other musician approached the TB 303 and tried to do something, everyone would say: it sounds just like Hardfloor'.
