In 2007, the Now&Wow series expands its geography. Parties will now regularly take place not only in Moscow, but also in St. Petersburg. The first guest to the two Russian capitals will be the American musician and DJ Josh Wink.
The club brand Now&Wow emerged in early 2004. Now&Wow started as a tribute project related to the celebration of a decade of the Russian techno movement. However, today its ideologist Vladimir Trapeznikov sees his task as shaping a new, independent club culture based on techno music. At the core of Now&Wow's concept is the idea of creating a virtual club that unites all fans of quality dance music.
The project aims to introduce the audience to the most relevant techno musicians on the planet. The Now&Wow brand advocates a non-commercial approach to dance music, where the value of a DJ is determined not by the number of records sold, but by the uniqueness of their musical thinking.
As part of this project in 2004-2006, Moscow was visited by pillars of contemporary electronic music, cult DJs and musicians such as Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, HardFloor, Marco Carola, and Adam Beyer. In full accordance with the Now&Wow motto - 'Right time, right place, right music, right people' - for three years these parties invariably attracted the most discerning audience in the capital at the club 'Gorod'.
In April 2006, the Now&Wow project launched its own series of compilations. Thanks to the Russian label 'Pravitelstvo Zvuka / World Club Music', the music promoted by the project became accessible not only in clubs. Russian residents of this club brand - DJs Volodya, Spirit, and Mario - have already demonstrated their vision of modern techno and minimal.
Today, the Now&Wow movement is also reaching the northern capital. For the first time in the history of the series, parties of the popular club brand will take place simultaneously in two cities. The new club 'Pravda' in St. Petersburg will host the first of cult American DJs, the talented musician, and founder of the Ovum label, Josh Wink. The following day, the Now&Wow party will move to Moscow, to the time-tested 'Gorod'.
