Club eTerritoriiae presents Nu Jazz Weekend on June 20th and 21st.
Participants: resident DJs of ZigZag club, Ivan Yazykov, Dmitry Studitsky, Vadim Maslov. Renowned jazzman Anatoly Gerasimov (saxophone, flute). Band Zgli Dub (Live). Special guests: Patrick Forge (Da Lata) from the UK, Kasio (NuSpirit Helsinki) from Finland.
Nu Jazz is a free form of club music that combines modern achievements of electronic sound extraction technologies and diverse dance rhythms with traditional jazz.
Club eTerritoriiae is a prominent promoter of nu jazz music on the Russian club scene.
Patrick Forge (Palm Pictures, UK) - a DJ and producer. He started his DJ career in 1987 and hosted the radio show Cosmic Jam on Kiss FM. He was a resident at Dinswall parties in London alongside Gilles Peterson for six years. He co-founded the project Batu with Christian Franck, which later evolved into Da Lata. Patrick Forge has remixed tracks for various artists and released DJ mixes and compilations. He continues to host a radio show with Phil Asher and is a resident at Notting Hill Arts in West London, as well as an active member of the JDJ community.
Nuspirit Helsinki (Finland) - founded in 1998, combines soul, jazz, funk, Latin, and Afro styles with modern club music. Their singles released on labels like Guidance, Jazzanova-Compost, and Ubiquity gained popularity among club DJs. Kasio, a regular member, is involved in both DJing and producing music.
Anatoly Gerasimov has been playing jazz since 1962. A saxophonist, flutist, composer, and arranger, he has collaborated with various orchestras and musicians internationally. Anatoly currently resides in Moscow, actively participating in the local music scene. He has released albums and performed with different bands and DJs.
Zgli Dub! - a young collective gaining popularity in Moscow clubs with their lively performances. Their debut album has just been released.
