Nu:Gravity Presents: Christian Burkhardt (Live)

On the upcoming Friday, October 2, the organizers of the Nu:Gravity party at Solyanka club will present an artist from Germany – Christian Burkhardt. A few facts from the artist's professional biography. He first caught attention in 2007 when well-known DJs began to include Christian's releases on Oslo and Raum...Musik labels in their sets.

Although Christian has always been an insider of the club scene, his musical career didn't begin immediately. In 1998 he bought a digital workstation and an Atari computer to start composing club music, but soon faced the limitations of his equipment. Seeking to achieve the perfect sound, he acquired a PC, VST plugins, and gradually began to purchase analog devices and integrate them into his setup. At the same time, the budding musician voiced videos for the Hessischer Rundfunk television program "Man vs. Machine", which aired from 2003 to 2006. During the same period, in his personal studio in Offenbach, Christian produced club tracks - a trendy mixture of house and minimal, powerful bass lines with percussive rhythms. His musical roots are quite evident: new-wave, hip-hop, and 90s club music.

It's hard to characterize Christian Burkhardt's music in a few words; using quite transparent groove patterns, he nevertheless creates refined and complex rhythmic patterns. However, don't expect to find "hit" sounds in his compositions.

As for the artist's live sets, they are constantly evolving and consist of tracks specially arranged for each specific case. Even published pieces at the concert sound different from the studio versions and form part of a larger concert arrangement, including up to 20 compositions.
