Official statement on the rescheduling of Creamfields Russia festival

The promoter association Organised Kaos announces the rescheduling of the Creamfields Russia festival. The international open-air electronic music festival was initially planned to take place on June 12, 2004, in front of the Gaudi club. The lineup was set to include groups like Faithless, DJs Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas, Goldie, Jeff Mills, Hernan Cattaneo, and around 50 performers. However, on May 26, 2004, the prefecture banned the festival citing that the date coincided with Russia Day celebrations, additional law enforcement resources were allocated to protect other venues, and thus ensuring the safety of Creamfields Russia would be challenging. Authorities proposed a significant reduction in the festival program, turning the open-air event into a standard club night. As this compromise would entirely undermine the concept of Creamfields Russia, a decision was made to reschedule the festival. Creamfields Russia is expected to take place in July-August 2004 at the same venue. The lineup and format of the festival will remain unchanged. The exact date of Creamfields Russia will be announced in a week, following consultations with the Moscow authorities and the invited artists.
