Official Statement from the Mix Club

"07.07.07 the Mix club is closing. Closing forever, after seven years of interesting and vibrant work. During this time, Mix managed to become iconic not only in Moscow and Russia, but also beyond its borders. Many foreign artists, coming to play at Mix, found here that very 'European' atmosphere and music that our people were heading there for. The most relevant in non-commercial dance music originated in Mix. The resident DJs of the club, in essence, not earning big money, constantly experimented, introducing the audience to new names and styles – and, one could say, cultivated a good musical taste in the audience. Legends circulated about how people relaxed and 'let themselves go' within the walls of their beloved establishment. Throughout the club's fairly long life, Mix accumulated both its fans and fierce haters, but no one can deny that Mix was an outstanding phenomenon in Moscow's club life. And all this thanks to the team that 'made' the project during different periods of its existence, including: Tanya Mamedova, Sergey Sergeyev, Oleg Zotkin, DJs Anton Kubikov, Alexey Meshkov, Maxim Zorkin, Vasiliy BVoice, Artyom Anrilov, Yolki, Chizh, Sergey Sanchez, Sergey Sapunov, Andrey Djungl, Alexey Dukhov, Katya Vanilla, Helga, Maxim Grabke. The reason for the club's closure is the fact that its owners were never interested in the club itself, its musical policy, and its guests. The main factor was profit. Throughout Mix's existence, insignificant amounts were spent on its development. Hence the constant problems with sound quality, terrible condition of the furniture, and more. As soon as the club's owners faced the problem of declining profits, they decided to get rid of the club and rent the premises. This happened more than two months ago. During all this time, the owners were looking for tenants, while assuring the club's administration that the club would continue to operate, closing in August for necessary repairs. The closure was officially announced on Tuesday, 26.07.07. Nevertheless, thank you to everyone, including the club owners, for being together all this time, for the wonderful music, for interesting acquaintances, for friendship, for love... The schedule for the last weekend can be found in the posters. During these days, all its residents will perform at the club. These will be special sets made up of the best tracks from the seven-year history of Mix."
