Old Skool party: The Hacienda

Promo group Vertigo and club '1171' proudly present the Old Skool party: The Hacienda. For the first time in Moscow, a musician from the legendary British bands Joy Division and New Order, and owner of the iconic Manchester club The Hacienda, Peter Hook, will perform. The Hacienda, which opened in May 1982, was destined to go down in the history of European club culture. Through the efforts of The Factory's head Rob Gretton, journalist Tony Wilson, and the members of New Order, The Hacienda became the first club to introduce the British audience to dance beats and kickstart the wild acid house revolution. The Hacienda became an experimental platform that significantly influenced a new musical style by merging the achievements of Manchester's 'new wave' bands, the distinctive sound of Joy Division, Happy Mondays, The Smiths, with the revolutionary discoveries of Chicago house and Detroit techno pioneers, giving rise to a new generation of electronic musicians who would reshape the music scene of the 90s. The promoters of The Hacienda were the first to bring DJs to the forefront of the big stage, making the 'person with records' the main figure of any party. Club residents, the legendary Mike Pikering, Graeme Park, and Jon da Silva, became the first mentors of modern dance gurus like The Chemical Brothers, Sasha, and Laurent Garnier – they played their first DJ sets at The Hacienda. By the way, Madonna's first British concert, which was relatively unknown in Europe at the time, took place in The Hacienda in the summer of 1984. A significant credit for turning The Hacienda into a truly iconic club goes to Peter Hook. The upcoming concert of Peter Hook and New Order will take place on October 27 at Wembley Stadium, a week after the maestro's performance in the new club '1171' in Moscow. The Old Skool party: The Hacienda will be held at the new, still under construction club '1171' on Savinskaya Embankment. This spacious establishment, designed for 600 people, caters to smart clubbers – representatives of the 'thirty-something' generation who are well-versed in the nuances of Moscow clubbing and prefer to spend their time in maximum comfort. For them, Peter Hook's performance is a kind of flashback, a party filled with nostalgia, a return to the clubbing youth of the mid-90s. For the organizers of the Old Skool party: The Hacienda, it is an attempt to inject a bit of 'Manchester madness' into the increasingly bland and boring Moscow nightlife, bringing back the free-spirited atmosphere of the fun 80s to the dance floor. During Peter Hook's two-hour set, classic acid house tracks from the late 80s to early 90s will be played – Voodoo Ray by Guy Called Gerald, Rhythm Is A Mystery by K Klass, Ride On Time by Black Box – as well as remixes of New Order's main works. October 21, Saturday, from 23:00 to 06:00, club '1171' (Savinskaya Embankment, 11/17), Old Skool party: The Hacienda, featuring DJ Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), as well as DJs Koreets and Yastreb.
