One Night Story with Brandon Moeller

The main character of the upcoming One Night Story event at the Shanti club is Brandon Moeller, an envoy from South Africa, the country of diamonds. His specialty is the slow dance rhythms and warm dub vibes that Möller brings to dance floors around the world from New York (where Brandon is patronized by the legendary François Kevorkian, who signed the South African to his Deep Space label) to Berlin and Madrid, where Möller is in demand by techno labels such as Apnea and Echocord. Since his last visit to Moscow for Shanti's birthday, Meller has noticeably changed his musical direction. If, as part of his Beat Pharmacy project, Brandon relied on warm American and even Caribbean sounds (jazz groove, Jamaican dub and imposing mood), then recently the musician has turned to the European techno tradition. Staying true to dub, Brandon shifted his focus towards gloomy dub techno in the aesthetics of the Basic Channel and Chain Reaction labels. In his music, tense notes and an atmosphere of post-nuclear dystopia appeared. The year 2008 was truly a shock year for Brandon. The musician made his mark with a whole series of vinyl releases. Its publishers included techno labels from around the world: Denmark's Echocord, Spain's Apnea, Berlin's Leena Music and London's Third Ear. Another unexpected turn in the South African’s career was the collaboration with one of the leaders of the world dubstep scene, the British Appleblim.
