From December 19, the private club A priori opens a series of parties under the general name<Пароль>. Once a month, the best DJs in the world and promising residents of cult clubs in Europe and America will come to us.
The pioneer in this glorious undertaking will be one of the most sought-after representatives of his profession, DJ Slacker, who plays a unique funky progressive, named after him Slacker Sound.
Regulars of fashionable Moscow clubs already know what it is<Пароль>, and what opportunities it gives to true connoisseurs of electronic music. Since February 2003, Steve Gerrard, Paolo Mojo, Jonathan Lisle, Phil Thompson and many others have visited Moscow as part of this series.
Now "Password" is valid in Moscow only at the A priori club and in St. Petersburg - exclusively at Jakatta. Additionally, there are a few key points to note. "Password" exists as an example of the best progressive music and invites both famous DJs and rising talents; welcomes a democratic approach to club life; ensures 100% implementation of planned activities.
DJ SLACKER
Slacker (real name Shem McCauley) has long been one of the most sought-after DJs in the world, playing a unique funky progressive sound named after him, Slacker Sound. This direction can be found on the singles "Slacker" and "Head Honcho" (label Jukebox in the Sky).
In the mid-80s, Shem McCauley was known as DJ Streets Ahead. At that time he was one of the leading scratch mix DJs in England. Thanks to this fact, he was able to make his first live mix on radio in the UK (together with Tim Westwood), perform at the legendary Hammersmith Palais, and work with Professor Griff (Public Enemy) and Tim Simenon (Bomb the Bass).
While educated at Brighton, Shem recorded records and played clubs with Norman Cook, and played acid-house sets at parties hosted by Carl Cox. Very quickly he became a sought-after remixer. Mixed for James Brown, Roxanne Shanti, Was Not Was, Digital Underground and many others. His track record includes tours in Europe with She Rockers and Bomb The Bass, and in Africa with Norman Cook's Beats International.
In the early 90s, Shem, together with musician Simon Rogers, created the Ramp project, which earned fame with tracks such as 'Rock the Discotek' and 'Stomp' (Loaded label), as well as remixes for D:Ream, Grace Jones, Sister Sledge, Armande Van Helden, Boy George and others.
Working independently, Shem takes the name Slacker and begins to surprise listeners with new tracks born during his trip to Goa and Thailand. The first to appear were 'Feel Space' and 'Jukebox In The Sky', then 'Flying Baby' - all of them, according to critics, are underground club hits. His third single 'Scared' - a very powerful house groove - made a lot of noise, despite the fact that there was only one copy for 5 months - in the hands of DJ Sasha. It was a UK top 30 hit in early 1997. Tech
The same results were achieved by 'Your Face', 'Psychout', and then remixes for Prodigy, Golden Girls and Jark Prongo.
By the end of the 90's Shem returned to his first love - soundboards. He quickly became a resident at the legendary Groovejet club in Miami and began traveling around the world. His DJ career has continued to flourish with remixes for Bedrock's "Voices," Junkie XL's "Zerotonine," Trancesetters "Roaches" and Adamski's "In The City," as well as most recently a remix of Moby's "In this World."
Shem relaunched his label "Jukebox in the Sky" in late 2001. Back to back, he released "Fusion/The Sound of Slacker" and "Looky Thing>, as well as Head Honcho's "Walls of Jerico". This year, his new work "A Million Dreams" was released with a new single from Head Honcho "Medicine". The DJ's near future plans include the release of the classic "Scared" with new mixes.
