Patrick Pulsinger with Greetings from Vienna

Austrian techno experimentalist Patrick Pulsinger is one of the few Viennese electronic musicians who gained recognition on the global dance scene. Pulsinger recorded music in a variety of styles - from house and techno to minimal electro and downbeat, but each time he managed to create something unexpected, achieving almost cult status among DJs.

Patrick Pulsinger was born in East Germany and moved to Vienna in 1988. Back then, friends kept musical instruments and equipment in his bedroom, so Patrick had the opportunity to play all night long. A hairdresser by profession, Patrick went to work every day and played drums in the band The Sheeps Left in his spare time. In 1991, Patrick met electronic musician Erdem Tunakan, and in two days they recorded the first album, which also spread in two days. In 1992, Patrick moved to New York to escape the army and worked quite successfully as a DJ and producer there. After returning to Vienna, Patrick and Erdem founded the label Cheap Records. Among Pulsinger's productions is the album of Viennese singer Louis Austin "Only Tonight". He made remixes for artists like Lamb, Opelbastads, Anti Pop Consortium, Cornershop, Denki Groove, David Holmes, Wit, Goldene Zitronen, Dogboy. Pulsinger himself released music under various pseudonyms on labels such as Disko B, Mo Wax, M-Plant, Form and Function.
