Paul Oakenfold at Gaudi's Birthday

On June 3, 2006, Gaudi Arena celebrates its birthday in the company of the celebrated British musician, producer, and DJ, the darling of the Moscow audience Paul Oakenfold. The club project emerged in 2001, at the peak of interest in mass dance events. At that time, there was a demand in the city for spacious club venues capable of providing the audience with the greatest comfort and maximum options for club entertainment. The Gaudi promoter group became the first and only team in Moscow to respond to these public aspirations, opening a club with the city's largest dance floor able to accommodate up to 5,000 people simultaneously. The club's construction drew on the experience of the flagship institutions of the global club industry – Privilege on the island of Ibiza and London's The End. To implement this project, a truly unique venue was used – a building of an abandoned elevator just ten minutes' drive from the city's historical center. Soon, a two-level club space with a total area of 2,500 square meters, two isolated dance floors, 7 bars, spacious parking, and a 10,000 square meter open-air arena emerged practically 'from scratch' at this location. The uniqueness of the Gaudi project lies in the fact that long before its official opening, several high-profile events that stirred up the city's nightlife were held in the still under construction club. Over the years, the world’s brightest representatives of the dance scene performed here – such as Tiesto, Timo Maas, and Danny Howells. In June 2005, Moby played a four-hour DJ set at Gaudi Arena – a unique occurrence in the musician's practice. The status of the city's main dance club Gaudi Arena is confirmed by an incredible, designed for a whopping five thousand people (!) party featuring the legendary Paul Oakenfold. After an almost four-year hiatus, Oakenfold will perform in Moscow before such a massive audience.
