First Live Performance of DJ Spell

For the first time, DJ Spell as a musician makes it to radio Station 106.8 FM in the Dj Uho broadcast dedicated to Russian musicians in 1998 with the track "Sweden Sound", which after its presentation on the radio was played there multiple times. After that, Dima focuses more on DJing until 2002. In addition to his main work as a DJ, Dima experiments with music and creates the Restless Dream project—experimental electronic music—and begins collaborating with Russian experimenters NN Records, together with whom he hosts live performances of Russian electronic (mainly IDM, Experimental Electronica) projects on Mondays at the club Tochka. That same year, a CDR—mini-album by Restless Dream—"Lethargic Continuance" is released on NN Records. In 2003, the track "Sweden Sound" appears in the film "Durak" by Maxim Korostyshevsky to sound a club scene. In 2004, Dima returns to making music, but in a club format. In March 2005, a remix of the Danish project "Dj Daniel & Hansen" (Dj Daniel & Hansen - Wreck (Dj Spell's Acid Mix)) is released on vinyl by the European label Tic Tac Toe Records. Dima's remix received a lot of positive feedback and entered the playlists and charts of world-famous DJs such as Ivan Smagghe (Blackstrobe), Tiefschwarz, John Tejada, Mathias Schaffhauser, James Flavour (Dirt Crew), Ewan Pearson, Anja Schneider... The remix also received a positive review from the well-known German magazine De-Bug. For a long time, the record was in the top 30 (reaching No. 6) of best-selling releases at one of Germany's largest stores (Decks.De). The next release was a remix of Monica Schroeder – Poison (Dima Spell Dub Mix) on the American synth-pop label "A Different Drum", which reached No. 1 in sales on Amazon.com. In October 2006, the first 12” EP by Dima, DJ Spell – Lisa EP, is released on the Mule Electronic label, exclusively distributed by the famous label Kompakt.
