Nooncat's First Performance in Saint Petersburg

A talented person is talented in everything. This common phrase couldn't be more suitable for the biography of Alexey Meshkov - the man behind the Nooncat project. Having abandoned promising studies at the Moscow Medical Academy, in 1993 Alexey started designing clothes and organizing art performances. His talent led him to receive the Ptuch magazine award for the best avant-garde designer. Considering this to be the peak of his activity in this capacity, Meshkov left the world of modeling and focused on music. He always selected and mixed the music for his shows himself, showcasing excellent taste that helped him achieve success in the music scene. His subsequent radio broadcasts on "Substantsiya" clearly demonstrated Alexey's diverse taste. In his late-night programs, he wasn't shy to play proto-industrial bands like Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, dark ambient, and trip-hop. In 1999, as expected, Alexey outgrew DJing and started working on his own music under the name Nooncat. Seven years later, he arrives in Saint Petersburg as an established musician, with tracks released by respected techno labels such as Trapez and Treibstoff. Winner of the "Best Dance Project of 2004" award by the club "16 Tons," he has not deteriorated as often happens with musicians after recognition. He didn't simplify his music to attract more fans nor overly complicate it to return to the underground scene. His music, with a clear techno direction, sometimes leaning towards harsh minimalism, sometimes with trance elements, but always high-quality and dance-worthy. The creative group Simply Minimalicious continues to delight minimal music fans, focusing on "live" performances in the new season of parties at the Central Station club in Saint Petersburg. And the DJs, as always, are a pleasant addition. Just as it should be. November 1, Wednesday, from 22:00 to 04:00, Saint Petersburg, club Central Station (1 Lomonosova Street)
