A Dose of Musical Pleasure from Deus
Клубные российские · 06.04.2006
The Belgian collective Deus is a highly recognizable musical brand characterized primarily by two words: experimentalism and eclecticism. Deus is a group that can be called cult without quotation marks. Mixing experimental rock and electronic sounds, the collective creates its eclectic works, each of which is a unique journey through styles and trends. There is room for everything - improvisational avant-grunge, alt-pop, punk, progressive rock, and even jazz. Deus has gained international recognition as musical innovators thanks to their masterful art of multi-quotation, which alludes to dozens of legendary groups of various formats. Their concerts are a true acoustic carnival, a stage laboratory where experiments on musical genres take place. These experiments can be very unexpected, but the result always surpasses even the most demanding expectations. The members of Deus are also known for their parallel projects: General Electric, Vive La Fete!, Moondog Jr., Kiss My Jazz, and others. Tickets for Deus's pre-Christmas performances in 2005 were sold out in no time. The reviews from critics and audiences were not just positive, but truly enthusiastic. Promises of a new album soon to be released whetted the public's appetite: no one doubted for a second that the fourth studio album would continue the group's musical experiments, which will once again enchant and break the hearts of their fans. Everything fell into place and today Deus are actively touring in support of their new album, Pocket Revolution. The group's frontman Tom Barman called Deus' five-year silence 'quite a long creative vacation.' But today, Deus are back and will perform for the first time in history in front of a Russian audience! Tracks from their new album, Pocket Revolution, alongside hits from previous years, will be heard at the only Moscow concert at Club B2. April 13, 10 p.m. Club B2
