The last Subelectronics of the past year
Клубные российские · 21.12.2004
The last one this year and one of the most extraordinary guests of Subelectronics, Chris Coco, has many guises. DJ, producer, radio personality, critic and incorrigible music lover Chris Coco is best known as the permanent host of after-party shows on BBC Radio 1. His program “The Blue Room” is broadcast on
Weekends from 5am to 7am UK time. For a weekend survivor who happens to be near a radio clubber, it has long become a must-have weekend destination. As a DJ, Chris Coco is equally knowledgeable and skillful in handling ambient, dub, deep house, and at his Balearica nights parties in London it is always difficult to squeeze through the crowd.
Since 1994, Chris Coco has been released on the authoritative Warp, later his works were published on Distinctive and R&S. The list of collaborations includes tracks with Nick Cave, Stonebridge and A Man Called Adam. He remixed artists such as Doves, Engineers, Heather Nova and The Orb, and at the beginning of the century, following Dimitri from Paris, he became the official compiler of Playboy. In 2003, Chris Coco released the compilation 'Blue Room' and the double mix set 'Chillin At The Playboy Mansion' exclusively for BBC Worldwide. Radio commentary for live broadcasts from festivals like Glastonbury and Sonar on Radio 1 is also usually assigned to Chris - unless he is busy at that moment at the Space club in Ibiza or, as usual, accompanies the Cannes Film Festival.
Chris Coco's only performance in Moscow will take place as part of the Subelectronics project at Shanti.
