On December 10, the theatrical center "Na Strastnom" will host the premiere of the multimedia performance Zoetrope in Russia. The project features one of the front-liners of European contemporary dance, director Rui Horta, and the Portuguese electronic group Micro Audio Waves.
Micro Audio Waves emerged in 2000 as a duo comprised of members from Flak (guitar of the project Radio Macau) and C. Morgado (electronic component). Their first self-titled album, released in 2002, focused on minimal electro with elements of experimental.
With the arrival of Claudia Efe (vocals), new components emerged in the band's music: the musicians began incorporating elements of classical acoustic electro into their compositions while still pursuing experiments in the realm of electronics.
The 2004 release - No Waves - included Micro Audio Waves in the prestigious BBC Radio One session, and in Paris, they received one of the main international awards in electronic music, the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards (best album and best video clip).
The band's latest release, Odd Size Baggage, was released in April 2007, and the track from this album, Long Tongue, won the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards 2008 in the category "best song".
